  • Shift: 4-day, 10-hour workweek (Day shifts)
  • On Call: 1 in 4 weeks (first call from home)
  • Weekend Coverage: 1 weekend per month

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience in acute care or cardiovascular surgery
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) – required
  • Active Michigan NP license or eligibility for Michigan licensure
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required for healthcare jobs)
  • Clean malpractice and license history (preferred)
  • NPDB self-query within 30 days of application
  • Strong clinical documentation and EMR skills

Healthcare Responsibilities

  • Round on cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients in CVICU and CVSU
  • Manage patient discharges and coordinate care transitions
  • Deliver acute care management for cardiac and vascular surgery patients
  • Independently manage a patient list of 15-30 on weekends
  • Participate in on-call rotation (first call from home)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
  • Document patient encounters using Epic EMR
